Fall always manages to unexpectedly creep up on me. Even with the extra month of pumpkin spice lattes, I am still thrown off when I walk outside only to run back in to grab a sweater. Right now, we are amidst a temperate sweet spot — iced coffee is still socially acceptable,, and I can wear a sweater without having to pair it with a chunky coat. I can pair my sweaters with say, one of my summer midi skirts. Summer + winter = fall right? Or is that not how the math works?
Tulle Skirt

Ah, a good ol’ tulle skirt. Almost as if someone ran into a fabric store and robbed the place. Pair it with a relaxed sweater to give off the impression that you just threw this entire look together.
Slip Skirt

Slip skirts were all the rage this summer, especially ones covered in leopard spots.
Why stuff them in the back of your closet simply because the season is nudging you to? Keep the momentum going with these silky options. Another benefit of the slip skirt is that it looks great paired with nearly anything.
Leather Skirt

Leather skirts are perfect for leading the transition into fall. They make a statement without begging for attention. Paired with high boots, this is an outfit your conservative mother would be proud of. You will need a sweater that doesn’t bunch up when tucked in so choose your sweater wisely.
Mixed Patterns

Get this, a patterned sweater combined with … a patterned skirt. Pattern mixing is an art, and more is more this fall.To try this look out, you’ll just need to muster up an extra ounce of confidence and cross your fingers in hopes that no one asks you what you are wearing, but if they do ask, a compliment will likely follow.

Envelop your body in two times the warmth with a trendy sweater skirt. Pair it with a sweater in the same color family for extra style points. I love how Aimee Song ignores antiquated social norms with this all-white after-Labor-Day look.
