More men are going to spas than ever before: according to the International Spa Association, 49 percent of spa customers are now men, which is a 20 percent increase since 2005. The norms surrounding the beauty world are changing and making room for men to explore the wellness world by introducing more male-only special treatments or events, male “back of house” staff and designing unisex bathrooms. Here, our list of some of the best treatments for men in the nation:

For a Manly Facial

This destination spa is tucked away in a pine forest in the scenic outskirts of Wisconsin. There is a special “Just For Him” spa menu offering a Purely for Men Facial (from $155) that targets men’s skin issues like acne and irritation from shaving. Then there is also the Hand Remedy Treatment ($50) that removes dry skin, cuticles and shapes the nails and does not include polish; and a Men’s Vitalizing Massage (From $155) to address specific stress relief needs (ask for Kathy or Andre). In addition to that, the resort also offers a golf course, hiking nearby, mountain bike rentals and an outdoor infinity salt pool that keeps guests coming back, especially couples, as the spa is adults-only.

Named after the Italian word for silver, the 12,500-square-foot spa is an oasis of silver, mosaic-tiled space with a myriad of male-focused treatments. Within its dense spa menu, you can find treatments like a Gentleman’s Body Treatment ($255) featuring pure essential oils of cedarwood and vetiver grass and products by Red Flower, and a 90-minute Black Tie Facial ($320) that uses Cellcosmet, a Swiss line that carries Cellmen, a line for men, and includes a detox, exfoliation, hydration and more. The spa is also packed with essentials like a unisex sauna and gym. Make sure to book your massage with Tosin, who is called out time and time again as the spa’s best masseuse.

There is a Red Rock Hiker’s Massage ($165), which pays extra attention to sore legs uses techniques to free restrictions to increase range of motion in active male guests, a Gentleman’s Facial ($125) that tackles the specific needs of men’s skin using lines Lira Clinical, June Jacobs and Circadia, and even a Back Peel ($125). And then there is the “Dude For A Day” package, which includes a massage, pedicure, facial and lunch for $225. This resort also specializes in rugged outdoor sports and excursions like kayaking, canyoneering and rock climbing, which makes it a perfect choice for solo travelers. It is close to the Snow Canyon State Park, so you have ample opportunities to go hiking and spend time in nature. They will even give you a backpack with water.

There is also a Gentlemen’s Manicure ($65) and a Gentleman’s Pedicure ($100) on offer, created for “the man on the go” and including nail shaping and buffing and forearm, ankle and leg massages. The facilities of the spa also include a men’s-only steam room, a coed relaxation lounge, a plunge pool and an outdoor patio. The grounds are lush and walkable, and grabbing a handcrafted cocktail from Alan at the bar is also a must.

There is a choice of activities like hiking or canoeing, and more than 40 daily fitness classes like men’s stretch and boxing, including a personal consultation with wellness professionals, and the exercise physiologists on hand make sure you are actually improving your workouts.
