We are drowning in food — or more accurately, we are drowning in pictures of food. A quick search of #foodblogger on Instagram pulls up over 31 million posts. #foodstagram has another 53 million. And #foodie pulls in over 125 million. From vegan to plant-based to meat eaters and deserts, the options are endless. This also means that finding exactly what you want can get overwhelming at times.
Food bloggers (like most influencers) are a dime a dozen, but there are some true gems in the mix. In fact, this is the kind of blogger tea we are here for — a nice cup to sip with freshly baked cookies.
So read on for the food bloggers you should be following. They might even convince you to get cooking.
If you are looking for a cultural infusion
Molly Yeh, @mollyyeh
https://www.instagram.com/p/BuO0m1aAVV0/
Can you imagine if your significant other told you that you were moving to a farm on the North Dakota-Minnesota border? Most people would probably run away, but Molly Yeh ran with the challenge. Yeh — who graduated from Juilliard with a degree in percussion — burst onto the food scene with her memoir, “Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from An Unlikely Life on a Farm.” The Food Network star (her show is called “Girl Meets Farm”), Yeh is known for merging her Jewish and Asian heritage with her Midwest surroundings. On her feed, you can find everything from matzo lasagna to brisket tater tot hotdish.

If you follow a plant-based diet (or want to start!)
Woon Heng, @woon.heng
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxrq0oqBFfe/
Woon Heng is a Dallas-based food blogger on a mission. Heng is vegan and shares recipes to help you take your life from meat-eater to plant-eater. Her Instagram is a vision of home-cooked goodness, almost as if you know she took a bit of her own creation right after snapping the pic. Recently featured on Best of Vegan and Plantd™ (both have over a million Instagram followers), Heng is one to watch.

If your kitchen is inexplicably small
Deb Perelman, @smittenkitchen
https://www.instagram.com/p/BxAb5TLJGkN/
For anyone that has ever lived in a tiny New York City (or frankly, anywhere) apartment, meet Deb Perelman. You will not find Michelin star food on her site — instead, you can find elevated comfort foods. And while I could talk about her skillet-based pasta or her confetti cookies, there is one brilliant aspect of Perelman’s site: the “In Season” tab. Want to cook her spring panzanella, but not sure if you will be able to find the produce? Click on the “In Season” tab for easy access to what is growing now and perfect for your next dish (Perelman has taken out the Google middleman). And one click on specific produce, like corn, will take you to a host of recipes featuring the ingredient. Genius.

If you have food sensitivities
Phoebe Lapine, @phoebelapine
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bru_VgLH1iX/
If you are looking for healthy, delicious recipes with a side of pick-me-up commentary, Phoebe Lapine is your person. And she has the skills to back it up — she has a published memoir. When Lapine was in her twenties, she was diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis — an autoimmune disorder that causes chronic inflammation of the thyroid. Her memoir, “The Wellness Project: How I Learned to Do Right by My Body, Without Giving Up My Life,” takes you on her journey to finding the right balance between health and healthy living. This same mindset carries over into her recipes. Lapine will give you a healthy recipe, yes, but she will also give you a reason to make it. Want to cook with an eco-mindset? Follow one of her #lowwastewednesday recipes. Interested in SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth)? Lapine is writing a new book on the topic, expected 2021. Check her out — you will get inspired, and you will get cooking!

If you have a sweet tooth (and love music)
Joy Wilson, @joythebaker
https://www.instagram.com/p/BvocYmQADPv/
I know, those two do not really go together. But Joy Wilson makes it happen. Let’s back up, though. Wilson is a three-time published cookbook author who lives in New Orleans. She runs her account, Joy the Baker, where you can find recipes for everything sweet from almond flour snickerdoodles to harissa caramel corn. But Drake, yes, I mean the singer, is the real star here. Wilson runs the account @drakeoncake, where you will find gorgeous pies and cakes featuring Drake lyrics — like it was God’s plan all along. (You are very welcome.) And while you can’t buy the cakes, maybe they will inspire you to whip something up of your own.
