Born and raised on the southside of Chicago, IL, Teryn Payne has always had a passion for sharing people's stories with the world. Teryn received her bachelor's and masters at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in journalism. Landing her first job at Ebony magazine as an assistant to the EIC, two weeks after completing graduate school she quickly got her feet wet in the industry. She then moved to New York and joined Teen Vogue as an associate editor on their digital team. Now, she is currently on Chance the Rapper's senior management team as his Director of Strategic Communications and Logistics where no day is the same. In her spare time, she freelances covering beauty, fashion, and wellness stories, where she prides herself on amplifying Black women's voices.
