It has been a big week for Disney. Not only did they drop the first trailer for the live-action “Mulan,” expected next year, they also released the first cast photo for “The Lion King,” out next week. And, while I can only assume you immediately started humming “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” upon first glance, I can also assume your eyes immediately went to Beyoncé — front and center.
This is not the first we have seen (or heard) of Beyoncé, who is voicing Nala, though. Disney has slowly been dropping trailers for the film, working to hype up every single person ever.
But it doesn’t stop there. Sir John, aka Beyoncé’s makeup artist, dropped a “The Lion King” makeup collection last month with Luminess Beauty, causing everyone to go, “I just can’t wait to have this collab.”
This play on a fan-favorite has been done before. We saw it earlier this year when Urban Decay released a “Game of Thrones” collection during season eight and in 2014 with MAC and “Maleficent,” to name a few. But this is different. This is Beyoncé’s makeup artist — you know it will be good.
Inspired by the African landscape (not Beyoncé, but we are sure she had something to do with it), the colors in the line range from nudes for every skin tone to deep, bold colors.
And with eight limited-edition products — two matte lipsticks, two liquid lipsticks, one lip balm, a highlighter, a sculpting palette and an eyeshadow palette — ranging from $24 to $42, every person can find something to wear for, let’s say, a midnight premiere.
