So, of course, that applies to travel, too,” says Abigail Nora, a Chicago-based astrologer. “Certain signs gravitate toward certain environments and crave different things out of a trip,” she adds, explaining that looking at your sun sign can help determine those requirements.

Where to Travel, According to Your Zodiac Sign
Whether you’re planning a quick getaway or an epic adventure, looking at your sun sign can tell you a lot about where to go while out of the office. From sun-soaked destinations to luxurious European travel plans, here are the best places to travel in the fall, according to your sun sign.
Aries (March 21–April 19)
As far as traveling is concerned, Aries prefers to “get off the beaten path and have an itinerary-free adventure where they can explore and discover,” says Nora. Fall 2022 also happens to be a great time for Aries to adventure since Jupiter — the planet of expansion —is currently in Aries and will stay there until the end of October.
Aries are typically not a fan of cold weather, so they’ll want to “live up the last bit of sunny weather this fall,” says Maisy Bristol, a Tarot teacher, and astrologer. “Additionally, Aries is much more ‘DIY’ than the other zodiac signs, so this sign might try going for a four-wheeling camping trip,” Bristol adds. With that in mind, Aries might enjoy a trip out West to camp in the desert.
Taurus (April 20–May 20)
“Eating great good, quality entertainment, and simple indulgences will please a Taurus,” says Angel Dawn, an international psychic astrologer. “They are very much tied to the Earth and eating, so delicious food fits the bill,” she adds, noting that a place with great street food, excellent local restaurants, and high-class cuisine is a must. In addition to food, Dawn says the Venus-ruled sign will also appreciate live entertainment, such as a concert or a broadway show, making New York City an excellent place for Taurus to visit in the fall.
Gemini (May 21–June 20)
“Gemini needs to be mentally stimulated to have fun and be fulfilled,” says Bristol. She recommends visiting a place rich with history to uncover, such as Stonehenge in England. In general, traveling around England is a great fall travel plan for Gemini because, according to Dawn, they also love the diversity in activities. This includes “a variety of food choices, chatting with the locals, and staying in different types of accommodations like varying Airbnbs,” says Dawn. “Fitting in all kinds of sight-seeing and cultural landmarks will also be very enlivening to them,” she adds.
Cancer (June 21–July 22)
“Ruled by the moon and symbolized by the crab, Cancer is a water sign that highly values the comforts of home—so anywhere they travel better have a sense of that comfy, cozy luxury,” says Nora. For somewhere local to the United States, she recommends taking a trip to explore the stunning fall foliage in New England. But, an “idyllic stay sipping rosé among the lavender fields of Provence, France” is also right up Cancer’s alley, Nora adds.
Cancers are also known for their loyalty, which means “travel companions might be just as important as the destination,” says Nora. So, if you’re planning a fall getaway, a trip with your nearest and dearest is definitely in order.
Leo (July 23–August 22)
“When I think of Leo, I think of celebrities like Madonna or Jennifer Lopez — this is a fire sign that loves luxury and views the whole world as their stage,” says Nora. “They’re enthusiastic about everything and regal to the last, and their fall travel plans should follow suit,” she adds. When planning a trip for the fall, Nora says to consider ultra-luxurious, almost over-the-top destinations such as Monte Carlo or Palm Beach. “Leo is ruled by the sun and, as such, this sign needs warmth,” Bristol adds. Leos might also enjoy the scenic aesthetic of Mykonos, Greece, she says
Virgo (August 23–September 22)
“Virgo is health-conscious, interested in people, and fascinated by culture,” Bristol explains. “We don’t think of Virgo as spiritual, but this sign loves to get deep within their mental being,” she adds. With this in mind, traveling to Bali this fall might be exactly what Virgo needs. However, Virgo also appreciates structure and will want to plan out every detail of their trip. So a wellness retreat in an incredible place like Sedona is also a great idea if they want a break from planning while still having a stellar itinerary.
Libra (September 23–October 22)
Like Taurus, Libra is ruled by Venus and another luxury lover of the Zodiac. “Libra cares about aesthetics and the overall vibe and flow of a trip,” says Nora. “Paris might be the ultimate Libra destination, with all its culture, refined food, and couture shopping, especially in the fall,” she adds. For travel plans later in the fall, Nora recommends checking out a luxury ski town like Aspen, which “also offers just the type of cozy but very expensive vibe Libra is looking for this time of year.”
Scorpio (October 23–November 21)
“Ruled by deep and intense Pluto, Scorpio is fascinated by psychological and paranormal themes,” says Bristol. “This sign would love traveling to a paranormal hotspot like New Orleans,” she adds. Adding to their mysterious and thrill-seeking interests, Dawn also recommends “sites where major historical events occurred, like World War II battlegrounds, or world-famous cemeteries like the Catacombs of Rome.”
Sagittarius (November 22–December 21)
“This adventure-loving, masculine polarity sign will appreciate any destinations that involve a winding journey from Point A to B,” says Dawn. “Any trips that involve exploring specific destinations on a well-planned route, such as extensive sightseeing, hiking, backpacking, or camping along the way, will be enlivening to their spirit,” she adds. Fall is an excellent time to go on a road trip across the United States.
Capricorn (December 22–January 19)
“Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is an Earth sign that loves the finer things, but not in a showy way like Leo,” says Nora. With that in mind, staying in a gorgeous Airbnb in California wine country is a must for Capricorn’s travel itinerary in the fall. Nora recommends staying in Napa Valley or Sonoma and indulging in fantastic wine-tasting offerings.
Aquarius (January 20–February 18)
“Aquarius is a quirky, forward-thinking air sign, and that’s exactly how they approach their travel plans,” says Nora. “They love offbeat destinations from Portland to Tokyo — anywhere with a distinct, unique culture,” she adds. With that said, Munich, Germany, is also a great fall travel destination for Aquarius, allowing them to experience all that Oktoberfest offers. “Yes, it’s touristy, but the locals get just as into it, and Aquarius loves learning about and immersing themselves in other cultures,” Nora adds.
Pisces (February 19–March 20)
“It might be trite to say that a water sign like Pisces should travel to a beach but, well, their symbol is a literal fish,” says Nora, adding that sensitive Pisces craves time away in beautiful, far-flung locales. And, according to Dawn, the farther away, the better. So this fall, Pisces might enjoy a trip to Fiji or Costa Rica, where they can swim in the sea and reset in nature.
Pisces also appreciates “destinations with spiritual or religious significance. These include cathedrals, shrines, or temples,” says Dawn.
How Your Rising and Moon Sign Can Help You Plan Your Trip
In addition to your sun sign, your rising sign and moon sign can also help inform your fall travel plans. “Rising signs give some insight into the energy or theme you should exude while traveling,” says Bristol. For example, “an Aries rising is very spontaneous and will not feel happy with a generic step-by-step itinerary,” she adds.
Moon signs are also important and, according to Bristol, should be considered when planning activities, as they give insight into what a person might enjoy while traveling. “For example, a Cancer moon will be less likely to want to push themselves out of their comfort zone—or even out of the immediate neighborhood they’re visiting,” Bristol explains.
