If you ever have the chance to sit in Patrick Foley’s chair, resident makeup artist at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, I highly recommend it. I was in Los Angeles for a business trip (read: to get a facial), and I had the opportunity to meet Foley.
Foley, soft-spoken and kind, was also Farrah Fawcett’s exclusive makeup artist — and friend. As I sat in his chair, he meticulously applied a rosy pink lipstick that had me pause. If you know me, you know that I rarely wear lipstick (outside of the occasional event or holiday). But this lipstick was neutral and just the right shade of pink all at the same time.
I asked Foley, who had moved onto my eyes, about the color he had applied to my lips. The answer? A lipstick he had created in collaboration with Nude Envie and the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, simply called “lipstick Farrah.” The limited-edition shade is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and paraben-free, and is formulated with vitamin E and jojoba oil, aka a treat for your lips.
With today being Fawcett’s birthday — she would have been 72 — I will be celebrating the legend and beauty icon by swiping on a shade of her lipstick in her favorite color. You should do the same.
